The dark night was beyond the hype. it is a serious movie with a lots of dark smiles. It will make your night dark with lots of adrenaline pumping surprises. Heath's performance will grant him a posthumous Oscar, that's for sure. He embodied the joker character the best an actor could. Although the antagonist, one tend to love the character because of the high end acting performed by Heath. Christian Bale as well as other actors gave excellent performances but in my opinion they were overshadowed by the Joker. It is the best of all those Marvel adaptations out there. The action movie of the year I guess. If you are looking for a nicely weaved story with strong plot and sub-plots, not over hyped overdone CGI effects (so little there) then you must be dead serious going to watch the dark night. It will put a smile on your face.

I highly recommend this movie to anybody who likes action movies. Whether you are a comic fan or not. This was one of the most violent PG-13 movies I have ever seen.
The Dark Knight is one of my favourite movies, and I think the better movie of the trilogy, but in many ways I prefer Batman Begins because it's made like a big-budget indie-movie, and is more about Bruce Wayne than any of the other movies are. The Joker is and always has been my favourite villain in anything, along with Darth Vader, and I really enjoyed Ledger's phenomenal performance/interpretation of the role, but I think in terms of what I find to be the most impressive Batman film, I think it's Batman Begins.
p.s. The Dark Knight = Masterpiece.
